The Fine Art Legacy of Jorge Kuhliger

The art production of J. Kuhliger is the outcome of a great talent, a higher academic background and a consistent professional development; he was a Professor of Plastic Arts and Masters in Fine Arts but primarily a gifted Artist whose comprehensive knowledge of art, creative imagination, exceptional aesthetic sensibility, versatile plastic dexterity and enthusiastic dedication, allowed him to consolidate a well-defined style that is distinguished by his deeply evocative conceptualizations, the complex meaning of the thematic content of his scenes, the coherence in his composition and his impeccable technical craftsmanship.

  J. Kuhliger's passionate interest and the formal research on the Anctient Mayan Culture were the sources of inspiration and the topics found in all his excellent art production, which is organized in thematic series, all of them characterized
by scenes with neat  composition plans that vividly express their thematic content; he mostly employed  large formats to render spectacular effects with the dwelling space, the voluptuous shapes of the elements and their interactions; the great control that he had over the plastic properties of the media and the techniques allowed him to achieve images of
excellent quality.

The set of four Oil Canvases shown in the Gallery of this website are currently available for sale; they are part of The Mayan Cosmogony Series, which is one of the finest artistic achievements of J. Kuhliger; this excellent  series of oil paintings started as the associated Art Project of a research on the ancient Mayan Mythology initiated during his Masters in Fine Arts. In this Series Kuhliger conceived
scenes with coherent composition plans that faithfully connote and express the complex conceptualizations of the Cosmogonist Mayan myths; skillfully capturing the mythical legends in realistic scenes that portray the live interactions of monolithic entities that characterize the abstractions of the structure and the elements of the Mayan Universe.

With great plastic dexterity, gaudily creative imagination and neatly eloquent aesthetic design plans, Kuhliger brought to life in his splendid and very suggestive scenes the symbolism of the iconographic codes that narrate the legends of the Mayan Cosmogony; giving substance and dwelling space to the mythological characters that he used as plastic morphemes to depict the relationships that exist among the entities that represent the natural resources, the structure and the principles of the cosmic context. In his scenes the symbolism is handled as a concert of codes plainly expressed with an explicit graphic syntax that conveys a plethora of evocative metaphysical concepts of the
Cosmogonist
perspective of the Mayan Culture.
From the design point of view, in the scenes of the Mayan Cosmogony Series, Kuhliger employed plans with natural spatial composition to render a realistic dwelling effect and a coherent dynamic unity with all the graphic elements; he used the most luminous layered painting technique to build depth and details using all the latitude of his oil color palette; this canvases have the most stable preparations and the best quality art materials available; the fine craftsmanship that characterizes this series of  his
exquisite art production is a tangible evidence of his great aesthetic sense and technical proficiency.; J. Kuhliger's Fine Art Legacy has erned the right to have its own place in the History of Art,  to remain as one more testimonial of the excellence of the Mexican Fine Art.
  In the
